Freemasonry (often called the Freemasons or a Masonic lodge) is a fraternity focused on: • building character and integrity • strengthening friendships and community • encouraging service and charity • helping good men become better through personal growth, mentorship, and tradition Freemasonry is not a religion. Men of many faiths join Freemasonry, and each member is expected to follow his own beliefs and values.

Men explore Freemasonry for a lot of reasons, including: • wanting stronger friendships and mentorship • finding a positive community of men who show up for each other • personal development, reflection, and leadership growth • serving Evansville and the Tri-State through charity and local support • being part of a historic fraternity with real purpose

• 18 or older • of good character and reputation • able to support themselves and their family • willing to learn, participate, and contribute • willing to go through the lodge’s normal membership process (petition, interview, and in some cases a background check) If you’re unsure whether you qualify, just reach out—someone from Reed Lodge can point you in the right direction.

1. Contact the lodge Send a message through our form or email us. Tell us your name, where you live, and why you’re interested. 2. Meet the brothers We’ll invite you to meet members in a casual, comfortable setting so you can ask questions and get a feel for the lodge. 3. Submit a petition If it feels like a good fit, you’ll complete a membership petition. Indiana’s process normally includes an initiation fee, and you may be asked to submit information for a background check as part of verification. 4. Interview + vote A small committee will meet with you, and the lodge will vote on your petition. 5. Begin your Masonic journey If accepted, you’ll be scheduled to begin the degrees and your path in Freemasonry.
