Reed Lodge #316 F&AM Donates to Local Charities from Annual Gun Raffle Funds
On Monday, May 5th, Reed Lodge #316 Free & Accepted Masons proudly presented charitable donations to three outstanding local nonprofit organizations: Evansville Trails Coalition, Holly's House, and Potter's Wheel. These donations were made possible thanks to generous community support through our Annual Gun Raffles held in recent years.
One of the core tenets of Freemasonry is Relief, exemplifying our commitment to compassion, charity, and community service. As Masons, we strive to embody this principle by actively supporting and uplifting those around us, providing assistance where it’s most needed, and fostering meaningful improvements in our neighborhoods. Since our establishment in 1866, Reed Lodge #316 has been dedicated to fostering community ties and charitable involvement, building a legacy of positive impact in Evansville.
Through sustained fundraising efforts like our Annual Gun Raffles, we've built a dedicated fund specifically aimed at providing consistent and meaningful support to local charities. These efforts reflect not only our lodge’s commitment to community involvement but also reinforce the broader Masonic ideal of improving ourselves by positively impacting the world around us.
We deeply appreciate the continued generosity and participation of everyone who helps make these charitable contributions possible. Reed Lodge #316 donates to local charities and volunteers at many events during the year, and if this is something you feel you would like to get behind on, feel free to contact us for more information on how you can join. We don't just make our communities better, we make good men better. All it takes is to ask one to be one.
Evansville Trails Coalition
Evansville Trails Coalition (ETC) received an $800 donation to support their mission:
“We connect people and places, promote active living, and advocate for the development of multi-use trails.”

ETC is dedicated to creating safe, accessible, and sustainable trails that improve neighborhood connectivity, public health, and local infrastructure. Their efforts are instrumental in fostering a vibrant, active, and more interconnected Evansville.

Holly's House
Another $800 was donated to Holly's House, whose mission is profoundly impactful:
“Our mission is to empower victims of intimate crime and abuse by providing support, promoting justice, and preventing violence.”

Holly's House offers a crucial safe space for forensic investigations, advocacy services, and mental health interventions, all free of charge. Their work supports victims, their families, and significantly contributes to awareness and prevention efforts in our community. They are a national accredited Children’s Advocacy Center, by the National Children’s Alliance.

Potter's Wheel
Potter's Wheel also received an $800 contribution to bolster their community-focused programs:
“Through Christ, we love, equip, and empower neighborhood families to thrive.”

Operating from their historic building at Governor & Jefferson Avenue, Potter's Wheel provides essential services such as meals, clothing, parenting support, and extensive youth programs. Their holistic approach significantly aids families from Glenwood Leadership Academy and Bosse High School, offering year-round educational and support services.
Potter's Wheel also invites the community to join their upcoming "Walking for Dreams" fundraiser on Sunday, May 18th, at 1 pm along Evansville’s riverfront to support their ambitious goal of raising $180,000.

Looking Forward: 4th Annual Gun Raffle 2025
Building upon this successful tradition, we're already excited about our4th Annual Gun Raffle, scheduled for August 11, 2025. With an ambitious fundraising goal of $5,000, we aim to further enhance our positive impact in Evansville. Like previous years, the raffle will feature premium prizes and will support essential local causes.
